We participated in the Empower Her Career Fair hosted by @nileuni, a space created to support 100 and 200 level female students take their first bold steps into the professional world.
From curious questions to honest conversations about career paths and industry trends, we connected with ...over 100 inspired young women. It wasn’t just about sharing technical jargons. It was about being present, listening, and offering guidance to help them find their footing in today’s competitive job market.
Because creating a future where women lead, thrive, and take up space starts with showing up for them early.

“My bank account was compromised, and I truly believe it was because my identity wasn’t properly protected.”- Peter Ogah.
That was one of the comments shared during our conversation on the AccountabiliTea Show in Lafia, @nasarawagovt, as we explored the state of digital identity in ...Nigeria.
While digital identities are intended to enhance security and simplify access to government services, real concerns are emerging. Citizens have reported that their personal information has been used without consent.
Our guest emphasized the urgent need for digital safety—advising everyone to use strong passwords, activate two-factor authentication, and be cautious about the personal information they share online.
We also highlighted #Ripoti, a digital tool for reporting digital rights violations and holding accountable those responsible for breaches of digital rights. Victims are encouraged to use this platform to report these incidents.

One of the biggest injustices is that the communities who bear the brunt of natural resource extraction often benefit the least from the wealth it creates.
#EnvironmentalRemediation isn’t charity; it’s a responsibility to these communities long overdue.

“Traditional platforms once dominated by journalists have been infiltrated since the evolution of new media. Today, anyone with internet access can share checked or unchecked information, just like a journalist giving rise to misinformation.” — Josiah Buzun, participant.
While the ...use of digital technologies continues to grow, many Nigerians remain unaware of their rights online.
To address this gap, we hosted a Digital Rights Roundtable in @plsgovt in collaboration with @actionaidnigeria and #digicivicinitiative, members of the Data and Digital Rights Coalition. The event brought together journalists to examine Nigeria’s legal frameworks on digital privacy, #dataprotection, and #freedomofexpression.
Participants discussed the state of electoral petition cases, focusing on both resolved and unresolved cases that exposed significant weaknesses in the judiciary. This led to calls for urgent judicial reforms, as public trust continues to decline due to concerns over political interference.
We emphasized the importance of journalists understanding key laws such as the Nigeria Data Protection Act (2023) and the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation (NDPR). Encouraging them to use their platforms to report #digitalrights violations, as well as promote structural reforms through ethical and informed reporting.
We also highlighted platforms like #Ripoti, a digital tool for reporting digital rights violations and holding accountable those responsible for breaches of digital rights.
